Nov. 8th Show with Blueprint (of Rhymesayers) and Illogic in Harrisburg!

Hello kiddos! As the title suggests, I'm proud to announce I'll be rocking with some staples from the national underground hip hop scene on Friday, Nov. 8th, 2013. Blueprint/Illogic/Dj Rare Groove combine to form the group Greenhouse Effect and will be rocking out with us at the Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg. Who is "us," you ask? Besides myself, my good friends, windchILL, Phynite, Unit 13, and Ladii J will be in the house. Tighty Whiteys feat. H.O.U.S.E. will also be in the building. And last (but certainly not least), I received confirmation today that my good friend Tony C. will be joining me on stage for my set. Those of you unfamiliar with Greenhouse may know Blueprint from his work at 1/2 of the group Soul Position, which consists of Blueprint and legendary producer: RJD2. Advanced tickets for the event are only $8 and are selling quickly. Once they are gone, they're gone! Feel free to contact me using my "Contact me" link on the right side of my website if you are in need of tickets. Hope to see some smiling faces in the place that evening. Be safe. Be sage.

Celebrating a new album release in a room of silence...

As of about an hour ago, I released my first "official" project in nearly 3 years...woah. Long gone are the drunken album release parties, sweaty hands pointed towards the sky as if they're greeting who or whatever they deem as God. I've said goodbye to the texts and phone calls congratulating me on my accomplishment as a musician, and have felt more scorn in the recent years for not "manning up" and getting a "real job" in the "real world" with the rest of the "adults." This also marks the first album where I did not have a album release party to commemorate the occasion. Instead, I opted for a quiet night at the homestead, spending my time uploading the album to the internet and ordering some physical copies on CD for the fans who still want that particular form of media for their music consumption.

This is also my first blog in quite some time. I'm not writing with much intention, just to more or less send The Boomjacks (Who produced the album in its entirety) and I some words of encouragement for a job well done. I am so blessed to have friends like The Boomjacks who believe in me as a lyricist and trust that I'll do justice to their beats. I'm proud we are still creating. We NEED more people to create. I struggled for a few years in releasing this new project, and have told myself on many a drunk night that after this, "I'm finished." This album carries the energy of my internal struggle to continue to dream while being slapped in the side of my head by society's need to encourage others to dive into a life of bullshit and "just accept it."

I don't accept it. I never will. I AM a dreamer and will NEVER live like them. I don't need a stamp of approval from this world any longer...that is what The Ownlife Sessions, Vol. 1 is about: telling a misinformed public to kiss my ass if they think I need to "grow up" and join their herd. I don't need props anymore to make me feel good about the contributions I make to the hip hop community. I don't need the texts, the phone calls, the release parties, the money, none of it...I just need the release...so here it is. I hope it inspires you to walk your own path and figure out what works for YOU...not your parents, siblings, loved ones, friends, colleagues, pet spider monkeys, your local salt water taffy maker, so on and so forth...and on that note, I present to you, from my heart....The Ownlife Sessions, Vol. 1 produced by The Boomjacks (www.theboomjacks.com)...enjoy.

New A. Sun song for free download!

As a reward to the supporters (I crossed the 1,000 "like" mark) on the social media cult known as Facebook,  I have released a song I recorded in 2009 that ended up being cut from Falling Becomes Great. "The Price is Life" is a story that dives into the controversial topic of abortion. Feel free to give it a listen, share, download, or ignore. I hope you all dig it, and thank you for the continued support. Click HERE to listen to and download "The Price is Life."

Down the Rabbit Hole...

Hello fellow sentient beings, I hope you guys took some time out to check out the new jam I posted yesterday and enjoyed it! Today I am writing to you in support of friends of mine who are setting out on a new life venture. The good folks over at Bear8 Photo have decided to shed pre-conceived notions of how we are to live our lives and have hit the road, living in an RV. They have decided to document their experience of "off grid" living through both pictures and an accompanying blog. Use the link "Bear8 Photo" I posted and check them out! The site contains beautiful photography and an inspiring story to follow. Their story is compassionate and modest, and their lifestyle reflects values that I hold very near to my heart. Salute to the Bear8 camp; check them out!!

Apollo Releasing Book, But Needs YOUR Help!!

Hey guys! After many years of requests, I've decided to publish my first book of lyrics. Unfortunately, being an indie artist is expensive! I need a helping hand in bringing this project to life, so please consider making a contribution by using the link above. Here we go!

Falling Becomes Grace now available for download!

Click Here To Download "Falling Becomes Grace" Now!

As promised, here is the link to the new album I just released titled: Falling Becomes Grace. Use the link located below the picture to guide you to the download page for the album. It is 100% free. Take it. But remember, one cannot receive until they give. I'm giving this to you, so please share it with somebody who may enjoy it!
On a side note, I'm not one who plays into the money-illusion, but unfortunately, I have yet to find a way out of it. I want to keep all of my albums free, but do offer the option for you if you would decide to give a monetary (or precious metal, especially silver) donation in exchange for the album. Studio equipment, pressing albums, and promoting them is expensive, recording takes a lot of time, and I do not make my living with music. However, it is a goal of mine to change that. By donating, you are helping to make that a reality. Okay, enough of the money nonsense. It makes me feel like an asshole just for bringing it up. Now I'm analyzing myself on my own website that I'm going to publish publicly to people I may not know. Oh well.
On a lighter note, I hope you guys dig it! Some very talented musicians have lended their hands in helping with the songs that are compiled on it. I posted links to their respective websites on the "album credits", so please visit those guys and give them a listen. Next on the plate is my EP collaboration album with my good friends, The Boomjacks, titled The Ownlife Sessions, Vol. 1. Stick around, because it can only get better. Thanks for listening, being a fan, friend, or family member. Without you, there is no me. Without me, there is no you. Respect.

My best,
apollo.
